figure skating
Feb. 14th, 2010 10:20 pmI'm kind of done with the feather/bird motif in pairs figure skating costumes and the accompanying arm-wavy wing-flapping choreography. Seriously, let's move on.
[eta: I am likewise done with artfully shredded costumes.]
[eta2: On the other hand, I like the harlequin costumes, and - not that this has a thing to do with anything, really - I totally dig the little couple of bars of circus-tune thing at the end of this arrangement of "Send in the Clowns".]
Also, a performance where she puts her hand down and he actually falls on his ass out of side-by-side triple jumps should not IMO score that much higher than a performance with no errors and no deductions. Maybe a little higher, because of the difficulty points and aristry on the rest of the elements and whatnot, but when one team is docked a full point and still comes in ten points higher than the other? SHENANIGANS. It's pretty to watch, but even with the new improved scoring system, figure skating is still a total racket.
