I have been saying for years that the Fluevogs for me are the Mini Dollface. Am I right? Red mary janes with an ankle strap - what's not to love? (I also appreciated the Mini Sweet Pea - that pink one there - but I liked the Dollface better.)

Alas these both appear to be discontinued. Very disappointing. I do like the Mini heel the very best of all the Fluevog heels. But! But! Look!

Mini Elif! Is that not for me an even better shoe, as the angle of the strap will necessarily minimize the height of my (alpine) instep and lengthen my (quite short) leg?

In the grey and purple, of course. I do love the lime green, but I am not allowed to wear such colors if I don't want to look like a liver patient.

Between the Wii game I picked up a couple of weekends ago (which is Clone Wars, i.e. utter nonsense, but still) and the fact that the movies were on TV last weekend (Special Editions, i.e. quite a bit of nonsense, but still), I've been in a very happy Star Wars place lately. I've been indulging this by trying and mostly failing to find fic from the original trilogy and the (I can't believe I'm about to type this, but stay with me) original expanded universe* to read, and amusing myself by re-reading the X-Wing series (which, yes, are more or less complete nonsense [g]), which I went ahead and bought some years ago when I was mostly reading the other books but not buying them, on account of Wedge Antilles is awesome.

(I was talking about my happy Star Wars place in the car with

ellen_fremedon this afternoon, and this is how we can tell I've been out of that place for a long time: Ellen? Every time I said "Kevin J Anderson", what I meant was "Michael Stackpole"; and every time I said "Del Rey", what I meant was "Bantam". I just had them backwards was all! [g])

... That's all I've got, really. :-) Wedge is awesome, and I'm in a phase where I'm re-enjoying my first fandom. Anyone want to point me at good stuff to help me enjoy it even more? How are you guys engaging with your first fandoms these days? I might dig out some proto-fanfic in a bit and amuse myself with how bad it was. :-D
