knitting knitting knitting
Sep. 10th, 2011 12:12 amSo I realized in the 16-row stripe that I wasn't going to have enough white yarn to do the 20-row stripe - which means the decision of whether to do two more stripes was out of my hands, and I can't tell you how glad I am to have realized this before I knit the 18-row stripe and half the 20-row stripe and had to rip all the way back. The sucker is now bound off and tomorrow I will weave the ends in very securely (they're all already knit in, but I'll be doing some doubling back) and possibly blocking it. Probably ought to block it. It's not going to stay blocked, but it's nice if it starts that way.
Next time: not just starting from the outside, but also embracing the jogless join.
