today's news: presbyterian minister in arlington says if gay couples can't get married, then (in my church) nobody can.

virginians: this would be a good time (well, what isn't a good time?) to write to your state-level representatives in the GA and insist that the amendment be voted down.

side note: how come journalists think 'paragraph' and 'sentence' are so nearly synonymous?

i was so ... impressed

a couple of weeks ago when i was sick, i lost three pounds by my scale in about 36 hours -- this from not eating at all on thursday or most of friday and spending that time in (ahem) involuntary purging instead, i'm sure. i gained it back as soon as i was feeling better.

since which, in the past two days, i mean, i appear to have lost four pounds mainly by sitting on my ass.
