today's stumper

So okay: maybe I'm missing something - almost certainly I'm missing something, since my awareness of Twilight comes entirely from cleolinda's summaries and wordplay's occasionally coming into my office and telling me the movies have got to be seen to be believed - but isn't the Edward-vs-Jacob stuff kind of ... nonsense? I think I've thought this since I became aware that there were Different Factions, but especially as it's being advertised on the television in the commercial breaks in the weekend's Harry Potter marathon, isn't it ... aren't the Team Jacob people sort of not unlike the Harry/Hermione shippers?, in that the canon has ... kind of ... spoken?

I'm really asking.

They're up to Order of the Phoenix on ABC Family now, and I've got to tell you, every time I see Imelda Staunton in any role at all, I'm reminded of mrshamill. (I like you way, way better than Professor Umbridge, T! It's just something around the eyes.) This part is as creepy as all get-out, but man, she's good in it.

urgh.

Paper was due Thursday 8th, in fact. 15-22 pages. I wrote in last Monday to ask for an extension until this Monday (i.e. tomorrow) - one more weekend b/c my life has been hard this spring and summer. I was granted the extension. I am now at page 12 and circling for a landing, which isn't quite 15 pages, but it'll have to do. The paper is crap anyway, but I think (having done the sums) there is no mathematical way for me to fail the class, so that's all right.

What's not all right is that I had a little something sticky in my throat yesterday at my voice lesson, and today I've something a little gummy in my chest, right at the top of the sternum, and guaifenesin and hot (decaf!) tea haven't really loosened it up much. I would love this not to be a summer chest cold, which is prominent on my (non-exhaustive) list of things I absolutely do not need.
