I am flying to Detroit next month and Rochester in October, and I have got both round trips for a total of about sixty bucks. (Which is to say that I have redeemed miles and other point-type things in each case and paid a fee to do so, but hey. Anything that doesn't add $250 to the Visa bill is a winner as far as I'm concerned.)

i was so ... accomplished

A little background, which I'll make as brief as possible. ( For many years, we traveled to my mother's family at Christmas. )

( My mother is heavily invested in everyone being together at the same time. )

Anyway. Fifteen minutes, cosmically speaking, after we settle on the first weekend in October and I buy my tickets, it becomes inconvenient for me to be away that weekend. Figures.

i was so ... annoyed

pocketmouse lent me some vanilla, since I unconscionably didn't have any in my own kitchen, and a tray of cookies with semi-sweet and white chocolate chips and dried cranberries in them is in my oven.

I'm thinking the rest of the dough will go in the fridge and get baked up fresh later. Sure tastes like cookie dough, though. Yum.

That right there is one skein. About 20 inches wide or a little more, lying there like that; it'll block out to close to 24" no problem and not even look awkward. 10.5" tall, near as I can tell, at the moment. I may wind up only doing three repeats of the pattern instead of four.
